This year, bands have decided to get a little different. At the grand finale of an annual rock event, bands will take to the stage without a playlist. Instead, they will play to the mood of the crowd.
The Harley Rock Riders will see music talent from all over the country performing on a single stage. At the grand finale of the event on October 1, three new age bands — Half Step Down, Split and The Circus — will be sharing the stage with Parikrama.
“It’s a wonderful feeling to share the performance stage with Parikrama,” says Melgor D’Mello, 32, the lead guitarist of the band Split, a Mumbai-based band. The band was formed eight years ago and plays post-grunge music. According to D’Mello, “We are going to get experimental this time. We are not planning anything. We will just take the stage and grab the mood of the crowd.” As for members of The Circus, it’s going to be a tinge of alternative and heavy metal. “We just want to go on stage and enjoy as much as the audience will do,” says Anshul Lal, 24, the drummer of the band, which was formed in 2007 and has four members.
“We have performed with Parikrama before and we share a certain grammar. We are going to relive it,” says Dhaval Mudgal, lead vocalist of the band, Half Step Down.
