NEW DELHI: The Narendra Modi government may approve a new national mineral exploration policy that aims to woo the private players in the sector, in its cabinet meeting on Wednesday. The cabinet is expecting that the new policy will facilitate harnessing technical expertise, technological capability and the financial resources of the private sector to exploit the country’s vast mineral resources. Currently, different states have their own set of rules and there is no umbrella policy to guide private players’ participation in this lucrative sector.
