PDP MP in the Rajya Sabha Nazir Ahmed Laway told Hindustan Times that the people of Kashmir had high hopes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, especially after his speech in Kashmir promising the Rs 80,000-crore fiscal package.
“Since 1947, there is a trust deficit building in Kashmir. To build bridges with the people, Centre should quickly release the package that was assured, stop excesses such as pellet guns and ensure jobs for the youth,” Laway said.
The PDP also wants a separate package for the business class that has suffered losses because of the current turmoil and for those injured in the recent clashes with security forces.
