KOLKATA: Sixteen days after chief minister Mamata Banerjee attacked the saffron camp for trying to introduce cow politics in Bengal, the first FIR with non-bailable sections was lodged in West Midnapore against seven people, including Subrata Gupta, the president of Cow Development Cell, a BJP affiliate. The seven accused participated in organising a programme on cow development on July 31. This was the first programme in the state to launch cow census.
