Buyers can now check if their housing units are ready and if the project has got an occupation certificate (OC), which means that the authority has conducted an inspection and approved the building to be fit to live in safely. The authority has advised homebuyers not to shift into incomplete group housing buildings for their own safety.

The authority uploaded details of 40 group housing projects located in different areas of Greater Noida on http://www.greaternoida.com/.

“We have uploaded details of all completed projects that have been issued OCs by the authority till May 11, 2016. We have also specified how many residential towers got partial OCs. Now, buyers don’t need to visit the authority office as they can check the list online and take possession,” said PC Gupta, additional chief executive officer (ACEO), Greater Noida authority.

“We will keep uploading details of new projects as soon as they get OCs. The authority is examining 12 other projects for issuance of OCs. If all relevant documents like fire NOC (no-objection certificate), lifts and other facilities are in place, we will issue OCs in the next 10 to 15 days,” said another Greater Noida authority official.

“If the authority wants builders not to cheat buyers, it should put up all details about their projects on its website. Realtors need to pay Rs 7,000 crore in land dues to the authority. If the defaulters’ list is made public, buyers will not invest or buy flats in a debt-ridden project,” said Anurag Goswami, a homebuyer.

Among the 40 group housing projects that have received an OC, 10 are located in Greater Noida West where construction was halted for two years due to farmer agitations over land acquisition.
