A 14-year-old girl from Dankaur area of Greater Noida has alleged that on Monday morning, she was gang-raped by two men in a moving car being driven by another one of their accomplices. The girl was sent for a medical test, the police said.
According to the police, the victim, a class 9 student of a government school, has alleged that the incident took place while she was on her way to relieve herself around 7am on Monday.
“The girl said three men, who are residents of a nearby village, abducted her in a Maruti car. According to her, one of the accused drove the car while the other two raped her,” Farmood Ali Pundir, station house officer, Dankaur police station, said.
The police said a few villagers saw her being abducted and they followed the car. “She said when the villagers became suspicious, they started following the car around and after a while pelted stones at it. This frightened the accused, who pushed the girl out of the car on the Ghadana road and fled the spot,” the SHO said.
He also said the girl knew the accused as they had studied in the same school as the girl.
The girl then returned home and informed her parents about the incident, the police said.
“We received information about the rape around noon and a case was registered based on her family’s complaint. Teams were immediately deployed and two of the accused were arrested. We have also seized the car,” Aashish Shrivastava, superintendent of crime (rural), said.
The two accused Ajay Singh (18) and Surinder Singh (19), both residents of Dankaur, were arrested around 5pm while their accomplice Arun is on the run. “We will arrest him soon,”
the SP said.
A case was registered against the accused under sections 363 (kidnapping), 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
