The DMIC, which consists of large industrial townships, is being developed along a 1,483-km rail route from Maicha in Greater Noida to Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Mumbai.

Abhishek Singh, vice-chairperson of DMIC, also accompanied Sharma. The project is sponsored by the Centre with aid from Japan.

“Alkesh Kumar Sharma had a meeting with Greater Noida authority officials between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm at their office in Chitvan Estate. Later, he along with our team, conducted an inspection at the site of an integrated industrial township and asked us to expedite the work to complete it as per schedule,” said Deepak Agarwal, chief executive officer, Greater Noida authority.

Mumbai-based developer Shapoorji Pallonji, which was awarded the project (of Industrial Township in Greater Noida) on January 9, 2016, and began work on March 11, has been directed to complete it within two years.

“Shapoorji Pallonji has already developed roads on industrial township project. Drainage, sewage and other facilities are being laid and to be completed by November next year. We will begin allotting land to investors by October or November, 2017,” said Agarwal.

Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited, formed to take care of the work of this township, will have its board meeting on September 30.

The township is said to have dedicated corridors to lay services lines like electricity cables and other wires, said officials.
