Once the Uttar Pradesh assembly election results are announced on March 11, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will focus on the development of two industrial sectors — 32 and 33.

These two sectors have direct connectivity with Yamuna Expressway. But YEIDA wants to connect these two areas with National Highway-91 so that plot owners can enjoy better connectivity and carry out business activities comfortably. (HT Photo)

Both these sectors are located along the 165km Yamuna Expressway that connects Greater Noida with Agra.

In 2013, the authority had carved out sectors 32 and 33 from agricultural land near Muradgarhi, Bhaipura and Birampur villages. In the same year, the authority started selling the plots measuring 300 sqm to 1100 sqm to interested industrialists at a rate of Rs 4,000 per sqm. But the authority is yet to carry out developmental work and take possession of the agricultural land from farmers. A total of 838 plot owners, who bought plots, are yet to get the possession of the land.

The rate of plots currently is Rs 6,450 per sqm. The authority has 144 plots available for sale. But the problem is that the authority is yet to acquire the agricultural land for this project.

On Tuesday, the authority started the work on developing internal roads in these two sectors. Once the work on internal roads is over, the authority will take up other works such as building parks, drainage and a sewage network.

“These two sectors have direct connectivity with Yamuna Expressway. But we want to connect these two areas with National Highway-91 so that plot owners can enjoy better connectivity and carry out business activities comfortably,” the ACEO said.

“We have already acquired 20% of the land for building internal roads. We are in the process of purchasing 20% more. We will soon purchase the remaining land for the project as plot owners will pay us money before taking possession of the plots,” another official of YEIDA said.
