Dewan Singh bows out from Wushu competition

India's Dewan Singh Huidrom finished 11th in the men's Changquan event of the Wushu competition in Asian Games in Guangzhou on Saturday .

Dewan managed a score of 9.07, slightly better than 8.17 of bottom placed Nepalese Bikash Rai.

Dewan was as good as the Chinese gold medallist Xiaochao Yuan in round A, managing five points but his performance dipped as the competition progressed.

He managed the scores of 2.52 and 1.55 in B and C rounds respectively to eventually settle for 11th position.

Home favourite Yuan (9.78) won the gold medal while silver went to Japan's Daisuke Ichikizaki (9.72). Ehsan Peyghambari (9.70) of Iran won the Bronze medal.
