India's Preeja Sreedharan won a gold medal in the Asian Games women's 10,000m on Sunday, while Kavita Raut bagged a silver.

The 28-year-old, who was fifth in the last Asiad in Doha in 2006, finished in 31min 50.28sec, ahead of team-mate Kavita Raut who claimed silver with 31:51.44 Bahrain's Ethiopian-born Shitaya Habtegebrel took bronze in 31:53.27.
