Kapur finishes season-best tied sixth

Shiv Kapur played what was his best golf of the year, with no less than 21 birdies and an eagle in four rounds, but at the end of the week, his double bogeys, two of them on the final day, pegged him back to tied sixth at the Johnnie Walker Championships.

Shiv Kapur played what was his best golf of the year, with no less than 21 birdies and an eagle in four rounds, but at the end of the week, his double bogeys, two of them on the final day, pegged him back to tied sixth at the Johnnie Walker Championships.

Kapur, who missed more than a few short birdies, including two on the back nine on the final, double bogeyed the par-3 fourth and the par-4 15th and that dampened his great effort of seven birdies. Overall, Kapur shot 21 birdies and an eagle against six bogey, three doubles and one triple bogey.

Kapur shared the sixth place with Gregory Bourdy (70), Jamie Donaldson (70) and Steven O'Hara (70), while one place ahaead of this bunch was Gary Orr, who had 10 birdies and one double bogey in his final round 64.
