Compatriot Gaganjeet Bhullar also leapfrogged four place up the rung when he turned in a successive 68 at the Empire Hotel and Country Club in Bandar Seri Begawan.

Lahiri sank as many as six birdies against a lone bogey to total 10-under 203 to lie two strokes adrift of overnight leader Siddikur (70) of Bangladesh.

The Kolkata golfer had a good start as he picked up birdies at the second, fourth and fifth hole with a lone bogey at the third to make the turn at two-under.

His back nine was a blemish-free journey as he dropped three back-to-back birdies from 14th to 16th hole to end the day on a high.

Overnight 15th, Bhullar also started off well as he blasted successive birdies in the first three holes but a bogey in the eighth hole pulled him back a bit as he made the turn at two-under.

On resumption, the Kapurthala-lad picked shots at 12th and 16th but an 18th hole bogey robbed him off a higher place finish after the third day's play here.

Among other Indians in fray, Gurki Shergill (70), Himmat Rai (72) and C Muniyappa (78) were tied 24th, 52nd and 79th respectively.
