Six Indians selected for World Bridge Team Championships

Champion theorists Hema Deora and Tutu Narula are among six selected for the national women's bridge team, which will compete in the 41st World Bridge Team Championships to be held at Bali, Indonesia from September 16 to 29.

Champion theorists Hema Deora and Tutu Narula are among six selected for the national women's bridge team, which will compete in the 41st World Bridge Team Championships to be held at Bali, Indonesia from September 16 to 29.

Four others who will represent India are Asha Surana, Rita Choksi, Bharati Dey and Marianne Karmarkar.

The players were selected after three days of national selection trials.

Hema is wife of former oil minister Murli Deora.

The six players will now compete in the Bridge Federation of Asia & Middle East (BFAME) competition in Bahrain beginning May 2.

BFAME is the Zone-4 of World Bridge Federation (WBF) with a membership of 12 countries.
