Eight Pakistan players in PHL

Eight Pakistan players and two umpires will be seen in the second edition of the Premier Hockey League, starting in Chandigarh from Thursday. Saqlain will play for Sher-e-Jallandhar, while Akbar and Abbasi will represent Hyderabad Sultans, Zakir and Warsi Maratha Warriors. Butt will don Banglore Lions colours, while Shabbir and Mudassar will turn up for Chandigarh Dynamos. Two Pakistani umpires Hayder Rasool and Zulfiqar Hayder Shah have also been assigned by the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) to supervise matches of the league.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has confirmed participation of their top eight players, including captain Mohammad Saqlain, in the second edition of thePremier Hockey League, starting in Chandigarh from Thursday.

Saqlain, Rehan Butt, Mudassar Ali Khan, Shakeel Abbasi, Salman Akbar, Imran Warsi, Mohammad Shabbir and Adnan Zakir will take part in league, Daily Times reported, quoting a PHF spokesman.

Saqlain will play for Sher-e-Jallandhar, Akbar and Abbasi will represent Hyderabad Sultans, while Zakir and Warsi will battle it out for Maratha Warriors. Butt will don Banglore Lions colours, while Shabbir and Mudassar will turn up for Chandigarh Dynamos.

Two Pakistani umpires,Hayder Rasool and Zulfiqar Hayder Shah have also been assigned by the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) to supervise PHL matches.
