Bihar's average economic growth rate in the past five years stood at 11.3%, deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said on Monday.

Quoting a report by the Central Statistical Organisation (CSO) on the basis of 2004-05 price base, Modi said the economic growth rate of Bihar over the past five years stood at 11.3% and the same in 2011-12 is expected at 13.13%.

Stating that Bihar has a huge potential in terms of economic growth, Modi, who also holds the additional charge of finance, said contrary to slow growth rate in some countries, the state has witnessed a consistent growth rate.
