Sambhu Rai, a resident of Sahpur in Danapur area, was going home on Friday evening when the husband of the candidate, Anita Devi, pounced on him.

The attackers thrashed Rai with sticks, stabbed him and finally chopped off his nose, the victim told the police. The main attacker, Niraj Kumar, has been arrested.
