Photos: Delhi Zoo’s animal residents await monsoon

New Delhi has been reeling under humidity and heat since Friday with the city eagerly waiting for the monsoon to finally settle in and bring an end to this year’s lingering summer. And while the capital’s residents may still make do, the animal residents of the Delhi Zoo have already taken to the water to bring temperatures under control. Going with the predictions of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the wait for cooler weather is nearing its end as officials said that Delhi can expect to receive ‘good showers’ July 11 onwards.

While Monday mostly remained sultry and hot, some parts in the Delhi Ridge area and NCR region did receive light patches of rainfall.
