Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao took oath as the chief minister of Telangana for the second time during a time chosen for its auspiciousness or “muhurtam” today. The TRS won a second straight term in India’s youngest state after scoring a landslide victory in the assembly elections. It had 88 seats in its kitty in the 119-member assembly. The Supreme Court stayed a Meghalaya High Court order that had directed commercial airlines to immediately begin flight operations from Umroi airport in the northeastern state. A bench headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi took note of the submissions of senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing Indigo airlines that the airport lacked fire fighting and other facilities which were holding up flight operations.
