Petrol and diesel prices rose for the 10th consecutive day on Tuesday, providing ammunition to opponents of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. Petrol is priced per litre at Rs 79.31 in Delhi, Rs 86.72 in Mumbai, Rs 82.22 in Kolkata and Rs 82.41 in Chennai. Traffic was hit on the Shimla-Kalka highway after heavy rains in the past 12 hours triggered landslides on Tuesday. The road stretch connecting Tuttikandi to Dhalli was damaged due to a landslide.
