Rajasthan MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari (C) resigned from the BJP on Monday, accusing chief minister Vasundhara Raje of corruption and nepotism. His resignation letter to BJP president Amit Shah said, “The chief of state government in Rajasthan in collusion with some ministers and bureaucrats has been robbing the state and the level of corruption has scaled a new high.” Tiwari also accused Shah of inaction and having surrendered to corruption. Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited the Baltal base camp in Jammu and Kashmir to review security arrangements made for the annual Amarnath Yatra. She was briefed on the three-tier security arrangements made for the 36 km-long trek that begins on June 28. As many as 213 additional companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed to secure the route from Jammu to the two base camps of Baltal and Pahalgam. (PTI File)
