When we are brought up in homes where we didn't receive the amount of love and affection that we needed as a child, we learn to grow up fast and try to become the parents we never had. Being brought up by emotionally immature caregivers can be extremely taxing for our mental health and affect the adult relationships we become a part of. "Navigating through life after experiencing developmental trauma often means having had to grow up too fast.
