The badminton stars and boxers registered big wins, as did archer Deepika Kumari and rifle shooter Swapnil Kusale in what was a good day for India at the Paris Olympics.  (AFP)

Swapnil Kusale finished seventh in men's 50m rifle 3 positions event while his compatriot, and medal contender, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, finished 11th. Tomar thus had to bow out but Kusale is through to the final.  (ANI Pic Service)

PV Sindhu registered another dominant win as she beat Kirstin Kuuba in the 21-5, 21-10 win in her final group stage match. The Estonia shuttler was no match to Sindhu, as the match lasted for just 32 minutes. (AP)

Lakshya Sen had lost to Indonesia's Jonatan Christie the last four times he faced the World No.4. However, the Indian came clutch when it mattered and beat Christie to secure a place in the Round of 16. 21-18, 21-12.  (AFP)

Birthday girl Sreeja Akula beat Singapore's Jian Zeng 4-2 and thus became just the second Indian after Manika Batra a day earlier to reach the round of 16 of singles table tennis at the Olympics. She couldn't go any further though, as she lost 4-0 to world no.1 Sun Yingsha of China later in the day.  (REUTERS)

Deepika Kumari won both of her individual archery matches and is through to the round of 16. She first beat Reena Parnat of Estonia in round of 64 and then Quinty Roeffen of the Netherlands in round of 32. (AP)

Lovlina Borgohain beat Estonia's Sunniva Hofstad in women's 75kg round of 16, and reached the quarterfinals. She is now one win away from an unprecedented second Olympic medal but will have to beat Chinese top seed Li Qian next to get it.  (AFP)

HS Prannoy staved off a scare from Vietnam's Le Duc Phat and won his final group game 16-21, 21-11, 21-12. His win confirmed that he will be facing Lakshya Sen in an all-Indian men's singles round of 16 match.  (AFP)
