The first medals came in the women's 10m air rifle standing SH1 shooting event. Avani Lekhara became the first Indian to won consecutive Paralympic gold medals and the first Indian woman to win two Games golds.  (HT_PRINT)

Preethi Pal won bronze in women's 100m T35, thus becoming the first Indian to win a Paralympic medal in a track event. She then added to ther history by winning bronze in the women's 200m T35 event.  (REUTERS)
