Burglary attempt at state minister’s residence in Wanowrie, Pune

The police are looking out for CCTV footage of the location to track down the suspects.

Unidentified robbers attempted to burgle the residence of minister of state for social justice and empowerment Dilip Kamble located in Paramarnagar in Wanowrie on Friday night.

The thieves also attempted to break into three more flats in the building. Kamble’s flat is located on the first floor of H building and the burglary attempt was noticed by a woman who informed the police.

According to the Wanowrie police, the thieves could not steal anything from the flat. A large posse of policemen was deployed to investigate the matter. The police are looking out for CCTV footage of the location to track down the suspects.

No arrests have been made so far. Area residents maintained that the police were seriously looking at all angles in the case as the thieves had attempted robbery at the residence of a minister. The minister has also been informed about the incident and given timely briefings on the case, the police said.
