Addressing a press conference, Akkannouru Prasad, superintendent of police, CID, said the video clip clearly shows the four youngsters involved in the killing of Fatangale.

“The video has details of the four youngsters who beat and killed Fatangale. We don’t know the whereabouts of the youngsters who were involved in the murder,” he said, adding that three arrests had been made in connection with the case, taking the total number of accused to seven.

CID officials said that the video was given to them privately by individuals the CID is not willing to reveal at this point. They have appealed citizens to come forward with details, including names and addresses of the youngsters, and have assured strict confidentiality of identities.

A complaint against the suspects was registered at Shikrapur police station under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Bombay Police Act 1951.

Tejas Dhawade, Fatangale’s maternal cousin, during a recent media interaction, demanded speedy investigation and arrest of the all the other suspects involved in the murder of his brother. Tejas blamed the state government and intelligence agencies of failing to pre-empt the incident in the aftermath of the violence.
