CM approves Rs 1,722 cr budget for Pune metropolitan region
Twenty-three per cent of the allocated budget will be spent on the Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar Metro and 33 per cent on the ring road
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday approved the Rs 1,722 crore budget of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) for the financial year 2019-20.

Twenty-three per cent of the allocated budget will be spent on the Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar Metro and 33 per cent on the ring road.
Fadnavis, president of PMRDA, held a meeting at Mantralaya in Mumbai on Friday, at which Prakash Mehta, minister for housing; Girish Bapat, Pune guardian minister; Nitin Kareer, urban development secretary; IAS officer Pravinsingh Pardeshi, Shravan Hardikar, PMRDA commissioner and Naval Kishore Ram, Pune district collector were present.
The CM also approved the appointment of a consultant to prepare comprehensive and integrated plan for water supply scheme, waste water treatment, rainwater harvesting, solid waste management in the PMRDA region.
Fadnavis approved the land acquisition plan based on the detailed project report (DPR) for Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro and instructed officials to set up a demonstrative centre to prepare a concept plan for PMRDA region.
The Prime Minister Awas Yojana houses will be constructed under a joint venture with MahaHousing, the chief minister announced at the meeting. Fourteen locations measuring 13.3 hectares are reserved for the scheme.
The chief minister has given his nod to making PMRDA a shareholder in special purpose vehicle (SPV) which would raise funds for the proposed international airport at Purandar.
As the proposed airport is coming up in PMRDA region, by considering its role, Fadnavis made PMRDA a shareholder of the company.
The PMRDA also in principle approved roads within the PMRDA region to be developed on the public private partnership (PPP) model.
