IBM will also enable faculty members from across DES’s network of institutions to incorporate relevant courses offered by IBM career education programme. “These certificate programmes have been designed for non-engineering students or for those pursuing their graduation and post-graduation degree. The programmes can be useful for working professionals as they help them become industry ready,” said Adesh Gokhale, council member, DES. “It will help working professionals in their current jobs and will definitely make them more productive,” he added.

Sharad Kunte, chairman, DES, who introduced the course, said, “It is a historical moment as two Institutions, DES and IBM, are coming together for contributing to the digital and skill India movement. DES is in the process of establishing the first-of-its-kind state-of-art centre of skill development and innovations (DESCSDI) in India. As the chairman of DES, it is indeed a proud moment for me and our council members to join hands with industry leaders such as IBM.”

As a part of the collaboration, participants will access the IBM cloud platform as a service (PaaS) based on open standards and will build, deploy, manage and run omni-channel applications like web and mobile, big data and other smart services. Apart from the IBM cloud platform, students will also have access to other relevant IBM technology platforms in the areas of analytics and security.
