Fergusson College student commits suicide in Pune

The intent behind Madhavi Vishal Kale’s extreme step is not known yet.

Madhavi Vishal Kale, 17, a Class 12 student of Fergusson College, allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the fourth floor of the building she stayed in, along with her parents, in Kasba peth on Sunday afternoon. According to police, the incident took place at around 1 pm.

Police said, the 17-year-old Kale had been to her tuition class. After she returned home, she headed straight to the terrace and took a plunge. She was critically injured and was rushed to a nearby private hospital, but was proclaimed dead on arrival, doctors said.

Kishore Nawande, Faraskhana police station in-charge, said “The statement of the family members of Madhavi Kale is yet to be recorded. They are in a state of shock. Currently, we do not have any information regarding the motive or intent behind the girl’s drastic step,” he added.
