Pillai was speaking at the 3rd Founder’s Day of late Pralhad P Chhabria on Tuesday.

In India, every kid born is an entrepreneur and has the capability to lead in whichever field he/she chooses. We are born talented, but it needs to be nurtured properly. Late Pralhad P Chhabria, founder of Finolex industries and founder president of Hope Foundation and Research Centre, is the best example of a successful entrepreneur,” said Radhakrishnan Pillai, deputy director of Masters in Leadership Science, Mumbai University.

Speaking on the topic, ‘Are entrepreneurs born or nurtured’, Pillai further added, “Some people are individually great and do a lot for the society, but after their death no one can take their work forward. However, in the case of late Pralhad Chhabria, he was an institution himself and motivated thousands to make a positive change. Hence, he became an entrepreneur and also created many of them. Entrepreneurs are actually leaders and though, every generation has their own challenges while working, they only try to bring out solutions for it.”

“There is a need to go beyond our education system and encourage young minds to become entrepreneurs who can create job opportunities for others, just like PP Chabria did. There are three stages of entrepreneurship – first the idea stage where you to focus on one thing and keep doing it till you get master it, then, the second stage is to scale-up and go to the next level to sustain the work in today’s competitive world. Finally, you should know when to exit from the field and give an opportunity to the next generation,” said Pillai.

Dinanath Kholkar said, “It is important for the young generation to focus on the underprivileged section of the society. We are trying to create solutions for affordable farming for our farmers and also encourage student participation in these projects. Digital-rural connect is the need of the hour.”
