Man beaten up for love marriage with assailant’s sister in Pune

Two men were arrested by Pune police on Monday for assaulting a man over his love marriage to the sister of one of the arrested men.
The police have booked three men for beating up the man. However, two were arrested. The injured man was identified as Sachin Khankal who had secretly married the main accused man’s sister.
“We have arrested two men in the case. The injured man was married to the sister of one of the accused. The accused man (Panyawade) was not happy about the marriage,” said senior police inspector Krishna Indalkar of Chandan nagar police station who is investigating the case. The incident happened around Thursday midnight around old Mundhwa road near the locked gate of a company.
While one of the arrested men was identified as Karan Bhausaheb Panyawade alias Rakhparse, a resident of Lohgain Sathevasti in Pune, the name of the second arrested man could not be confirmed.The third person is at large as the police are on a lookout for him.
The complaint in the matter was lodged by a friend of the injured man, Jayram Sakharam Kalaskar, 27, a resident of Sainath nagar in Wadgaon Sheri area of Pune. He claimed that Panyawade called Khankal saying he was stuck as his vehicle had run out of petrol. When Khankal reached the spot, Panyawade and two of his friends started verbally abusing him. While Punyawade hit Khankal with a metal handgear, one of the other two hit him in the head with a tile.
A case under Sections 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (insult with an intention of provoking breach of peace) and 34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code was registered against the three at Chandannagar police station.
