Passengers stranded in Kolhapur due to flood situation

Five luxury buses taking around 250 passengers were stranded near Gaganbawada as water levels rose from Panchganga and came on to the highway

Passengers travelling to Pune from Goa were stranded near Gaganbawada in Kolhapur district on Friday. By afternoon, the administration rescued all the passengers, who were brought to Kolhapur through alternate route.

According to officials, the stranded passengers were brought to Kolhapur through Radhanagari-Fonda route.

After torrential rains, the water levels of Panchaganga rose to danger levels hitting a larger part of the region.

According to district administration, five luxury buses taking around 250 passengers were stranded near Gaganbawada as water levels rose from Panchganga and came on to the highway.

The passengers were coming to Pune from Goa when the buses had to be stopped at around 1 am.
