Pune youngsters vandalise two cars, 5 two-wheelers over petty quarrel

Mohan Shinde, in-charge, Sangvi police station, said that the youngsters from an area nearby Pimpale Nilakh had picked up a quarrel over a petty reason with another set of youngsters from the said area, where the incident took place. “They came to vandalise the two-wheeler of the person who was involved in the quarrel, but in fit of rage, targeted all two-wheelers parked in the lane in front of the society,” he said. 

Barely twenty-four hours after an incident wherein three youths went on a rampage damaging cars in Mohannagar in Pimpri on Friday night, yet another incident of mindless vehicle vandalism was reported in Pimpale Nilakh area of the Pimpri-Chinchwad township on Friday night. Nine accused, mostly youngsters, have been arrested while the vehicles damaged have been identified as a Tata Safari car, an autorickshaw, two Honda bikes , one Honda scooter, one CBZ bike and one Tata Indigo car. 

Local residents believe that the youngsters are part of armed outlawed gangs being prepared by criminals and history sheeters under political patronage to terrorise citizens and reap economic, political and criminal dividends from the incidents, which are happening regularly in the city.(HT PHOTO)

A case against unidentified youngsters has been lodged at Sangvi police station by a victim identified as Mayur Dilip Madane (30), a resident of Vinayaknagar in Pimpale Nilakh in Sangvi. The FIR states that the rampaging youngsters targeted five bikes and two cars during their aggressive midnight attack outside Hardev Krupa housing society in Pimpale Nilakh.

The incident has shocked the area residents as the youngsters resorted to shouting and hooliganism, before they left the area. Local residents believe that the youngsters are part of armed outlawed gangs being prepared by criminals and history sheeters under political patronage to terrorise citizens and reap economic, political and criminal dividends from the incidents, which are happening regularly in the city.
