Two youth arrested for raping minor girl in Pune

Two of the three youths, involved in the rape of a minor girl studying Class 12, were arrested on Monday, while the third youth, who is also a minor, is yet to be traced, said police sources.

The 17-year-old victim, resident of Sinhagad Road area, had befriended the boy who is yet to be arrested in school, according to the police.

The absconding boy asked the minor girl to share her nude pictures with him and once she did, the youth started harassing her, according to the complaint.

In June, the absconding boy and two of his friends called her to an empty house owned by the family of one of the three and raped her, the police added.

The 17-year-old girl attempted to commit suicide by taking some pills and was rushed to a private hospital. Upon recovery she narrated the incident to her parents after which a case was registered.

A case under Section 376 of Indian Penal Code, Section 67(a) of the Information Technology Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered at Sahakar Nagar police station.
