Pune hairdresser held for molesting techie during hair wash

The accused has been working as a hair dresser for almost six years

A hair dresser was arrested by the local police on Saturday after a woman techie alleged that she was molested by the employee during a hair wash.

The 25-year-old techie, native of Rajasthan, had gone to ‘Mojo Unisex Salon Spa’ on the Baner-Balewadi road when she was ‘inappropriately’ touched by the salon employee, said the complainant. The police arrested Nikhil Awate, who had been working as a hair dresser for almost six years,” said Chaturshrungi police officials. Awate was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 354, 354 (a) (1) for outraging the modesty of the woman.

Police said, during the interrogation, suspect denied having molested the woman saying he massaged her on her request. According to owner of the salon, Swate has been working with the salon for the past two and half years and there has been no complaint against him in the past.
