20 grams of heroin seized from undertrial
Around 20 grams of heroin was seized from undertrial Gurinder Pal Singh, a resident of Jandiala Guru, currently lodged in Amritsar Central Jail on Friday. The accused is in the jail in connection with a case registered against him under the NDPS Act at Jandiala police station.

A case under sections 21/61/85, NDPS Act and 42, Prisoner Act, has been registered against him. Sub inspector Prabhjot Singh, who is investigating the matter, said that the heroin was recovered by the jail authorities during a routine checking of the inmates.
"Around 20 grams of heroin was seized from the accused during routine checking of the inmates by the jail authorities. A case has been registered and efforts are being made to find out how he came to possess it," he said.
