Six persons were booked for assaulting two persons over their turn for unloading wheat at a godown at Kalyanpur village under Dhariwal police station in Gurdaspur on Sunday.

Complainant Gurmit Singh said truck driver Amrik Singh had tried to drive his truck out of turn to the wheat godown by overtaking Kuldip Singh’s truck. He said a heated argument between the two followed and Amrik left the site threatening Kuldip of dire consequences.
Gurmit added that later, Amrik accompanied by five others armed with firearms and traditional weapons, returned to the godown and assaulted him and Kuldip Singh (both residents of Sekhwan village).
Dhariwal police station station house officer (SHO) Kuldeep Singh said that on the statement of Gurmit Singh, six persons — Amrik Singh, Ajaypal Singh, Harwant Singh, Satnam Singh and Gurnam Singh, all residents of Kalanaur and Ravail Singh of Sekhwan were booked under Sections 336, 323, 324, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code and 25, 27 and 54 of the Arms Act at the Dhariwal police station.
The SHO said police parties have been sent to nab the assailants.
