AAP MP Bhagwant Mann on Thursday said his party will start announcing the names of candidates for the 2017 assembly polls in June next year.
Mann, along with Punjab affairs in-charge Sanjay Singh, state convener Sucha Singh Chottepur and MP Sadhu Singh, were addressing mediapersons following the inauguration of the party’s state office.
Mann said the party will start the screening of the candidates for all the constituencies by March, 2016.
Chottepur said the party will monitor all its activities in Punjab from the office in Phagwara, which, he added, was chosen keeping in view its easy approach from all corners of the state and also because Doaba was a hub of NRIs.
Chaos mars event
The AAP state office was inaugurated amid utter chaos and indiscipline. A few young volunteers of the party misbehaved with the mediapersons covering the function and even manhandled photojournalists.
