Air force employee held for 'spying' in Pathankot

An employee from the air force base here was on Saturday arrested on a charge of selling strategic information about the station to a woman. The cyber squad of the air base had put him under surveillance and it has his emails to the woman registered as Meena Raina on the internet.

The cyber squad of the air base had put him under surveillance and it has his emails to the woman registered as Meena Raina on the internet. Pathankot senior superintendent of police Rakesh Kaushal confirmed the arrest of accused air man Sunil Kumar of Jodhpur.

It was the air force officials who handed Kumar to the police. "The woman had contacted him on the social-networking media first, turned him into a friend, and started paying him for the information," said the SSP. The air force team had kept a close watch on the online account of the air man.

The police declined to share more information about the crime, saying the details were sensitive.
