Bajaj dist BJP chief in Patiala

Councillor and former senior deputy mayor Anil Bajaj is new president of the Patiala (urban) district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Councillor and former senior deputy mayor Anil Bajaj is new president of the Patiala (urban) district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Bajaj, 58, received the appointement order on Friday from state party president Kamal Sharma. This will be his second term in this office. He has been member of the Punjabi University senate here and an old members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), student wing of the BJP.

The cloth merchant is councillor from ward 36 and postgraduate in political science. He is among a few BJP leaders in Patiala who have good knowledge of the constituency's political issues. “It’s a challenge for me and I assure the party workers I will work day and night to protect their rights,” said Bajaj after accepting the assignment.
