Haryana Janhit Congress chief Kuldeep Bishnoi today slammed INLD of "pampering" Shiromani Akali Dal for "petty political gains".
Bishnoi criticised the Chautalas of INLD for inviting Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal for a rally despite knowing the fact that the SAD has been working against Haryana's interests.
"A member of a family (Badal) who had been opposing tooth and nail the construction of Satluj Yamuna Link (SYL) canal, lifeline for Haryana, was invited by Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) in its rally here on yesterday.
"It is a cruel joke on the people of Haryana and most unfortunate in the annals of the state," Bishnoi, who is seeking re-election from Hisar parliamentary constituency said while addressing election rally at nearby village Sadalpur.
Badal, who is also Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, was present here yesterday when INLD nominee Dushyant Chautala filed his nomination papers for the April 10 polls to the Hisar Lok Sabha constituency.
Later, he participated in a public meeting organised by the INLD, in which senior leader Abhay Chautala was also present.
Bishnoi alleged that Badals have always worked against the interests of the state but Chautala family has been pampering them for "petty political gains".
"My father Bhajan Lal, had always struggled for bringing canal water to Haryana but the Badals had always opposed him," he claimed.
