Car looted at gunpoint near Gurdaspur, alert declared

Amrik Singh, a resident of Gurdaspur, said that he was going to meet his sister at Agwan village near Kalanaur on Tuesday evening, when he was stopped by three unidentified person in a white swift car.

High alert was declared by police after three armed persons allegedly looted Volkswagen Jetta from its owner at gunpoint near Kotla Muglan village of Gurdaspur district.

Amrik Singh, a resident of Gurdaspur, said that he was going to meet his sister at Agwan village near Kalanaur on Tuesday evening, when he was stopped by three unidentified person in a white swift car.

They looted his car at gunpoint and fled towards Gurdaspur with both the cars.

Kalanaur station house officer (SHO) Rajbir Singh said that extra police force was deployed in the area after the incident and intensive search is being conducted to nab the looters.

However, he denied that it as a terror related incident. He said that the car robbers seemed like thieves.
