Centre should raise issue of drug smuggling with Pak: Mann

Voicing concern over drug abuse in Punjab, SAD (Amritsar) chief Simranjit Singh Mann today urged the Centre to take up at bilateral level the issue of Pakistani and Afghani smugglers pushing huge consignments of the contraband into Indian border villages.

Mann also urged the central government "to make answerable BSF, IB and Punjab Police over the frequent flow of drugs into Punjab".

Slamming union commerce and industry minister Anand Sharma who visited Pakistan few days back, Mann said that the minister never bothered to express his concern to Islamabad over drug smuggling.

Mann said that issue of drug smuggling should be discussed at diplomatic level in the larger interest of the youth.
