Chandumajra wants revision of crop insurance norms

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) general secretary and Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha member Prem Singh Chandumajra has pleaded with the Narendra Modi government to change the norms for crop insurance and compensation to farmers in case of damage due to a natural calamity.

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) general secretary and Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha member Prem Singh Chandumajra has pleaded with the Narendra Modi government to change the norms for crop insurance and compensation to farmers in case of damage due to a natural calamity.

A SAD release said the MP has told the Centre that the situation in Punjab was different from other states and highlighted the problems being faced by its people.

Chandumajra demanded that the House must adopt a resolution condemning Operation Bluestar and sought apology from Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi for the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, the the release said.

The MP also took part in important debates, including agrarian crisis in Punjab, in the Lok Sabha, it added.
