Gian Chand, a resident of Khanda Khola locality, lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that Vijay Arora, owner of Guru Dronacharya Education Society, Meerut (Uttar Pardesh), and its representatives Rishi Raj Singh and his sister Shiwani Choudhary had lured him by offering him an insurance policy if he deposited some money with the society.

Subsequently, Gian Chand deposited two cheques for Rs 31,996 of Punjab National Bank and for Rs 2,31,971 of HDFC bank on April 13 last year, but the society neither returned his money nor provided him any insurance policy.

City police station SHO Lakhwinder Singh said the anti-fraud wing of the Batala police investigated his complaint and recommended the registration of a case against Vijay Arora, Rishi Raj Singh and his sister Shiwani Choudhary under section 420 of the IPC. No arrests have been made so far.
