A Class-9 student of a government school at a village in Abohar, a subdivision of Fazilka district, was gangraped by three youth, who later put the video of the heinous crime on the internet. All the three accused have been arrested.

As per information, on January 29, the 16-year-old, a resident of Maujgarh village, the native village of the leader of Opposition Sunil Kumar Jakhar, situated about 20km from Abohar, had gone to wash her hands after taking lunch in the school at a water tank of the village, where Sagar, 21, and Mangu, 22, also residents of her villager, met her. They forcefully took her to a nearby isolated building and both, along with one Bansi, 21, gangraped her and also videographed the crime.

They threatened to upload the video on the internet in case she reported the matter to anyone.Frightened with their threat, she preferred to remain silent but, on Saturday, the accused put the video online and sent it on her mobile. Then the girl disclosed the incident to her family.

The family then reported the matter to the police. The police booked the accused under sections 376 and 34 of the IPC besides sections 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, said Swapan Sharma.

The police have also arrested the and further probe was on, added the SSP.
