The police have booked Congress leader Nagina Begum and her 12 unidentified accomplices for assaulting a woman official of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) while she was on duty in her officer on Power House Road here

On complaint of assistant engineer Mansimranpreet Kaur, the police have booked Nagina Begum and her 12 aides under Sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) of IPC.

The complainant alleged that accused ransacked furniture of her office and attempted to destroy official record.

On Friday, Nagina and others threw Kaur’s chair outside the office alleging that department was not issuing a power connection to a madarsa at Hajiratan Dargah.
