A day before the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) is going to re-conduct the All India Pre-Medical Entrance Test (AIPMT), the Rohtak police have arrested one more accused for his alleged role in the leak of the answer keys ahead of the previous exam conducted on May 3.

The accused has been identified as Rajesh Bishnoi, a third-year MBBS student of the PGIMS Rohtak.

According to the police, Rajesh had struck a `20 lakh deal with accused Ravi and Bhupinder, who are already in the police net, for passing the answer keys to Adampur-based student Anil.

Talking to Hindustan Times, inspector Virender, who is associated with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by Rohtak IG Shrikant Jadhav to probe the leak and passing of answer keys to about 700 students during the exam, said, “During the interrogation, accused Ravi and Bhupinder disclosed the name of Rajesh and we have arrested him from Sector 14 at Rohtak”.

“Rajesh had taken admission in MBBS in 2006 at PGIMS Rohtak, but could not complete the course yet”, he added. After his arrest, the accused was produced before a local court which remanded him in judicial custody .

The re-examination will take place on Saturday. But this time, the CBSE has abolished the Rohtak Centre and about 4,000 students from Haryana will now write the exam in Delhi.
