Draw for allotment of liquor vends held

The draw for the allotment of liquor vends in the category of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) and country liquor was held at Red Cross Bhawan on Saturday.

The draw for the allotment of liquor vends in the category of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) and country liquor was held at Red Cross Bhawan on Saturday.

The auction process took place under the supervision of deputy commissioner Varun Roozam and deputy excise and taxation commissioner Sarojini Gautam Sharda.

The department has received 7,135 applications for allotment of liquor vends for next financial year. The draw of lots was made in the presence of applicants.

The excise and taxation department has collected Rs 13.70 crore as application fee from the intending licence holders.

The entire process of taking out the draws was conducted in a smooth manner.

Most of the liquor vends in Jalandhar-1(which is part of Jalandhar division) went to AD Enterprises, UW Enterprises and Om Sons Marketing Private Limited.
