Leading the protest, Congress MLA (urban) Parminder Singh Pinki charged that every facility, be it drinking water, roads, street lights or sewerage system in Ferozepur, had deteriorated in the last seven years of the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party (SAD-BJP) regime.

Pinki said the level of corruption in the various ongoing development projects had allegedly reached its peak, leaving the common man at the receiving end.

"It's rueful that despite Rs 61 crore issueed from the last UPA government for a new sewerage system at Ferozepur, the state government failed to get it accomplished. As a resut, local inhabitants have no option but to use drinking water mixed with sewerage," added the MLA.

Following political reasons, wards represented by Congress MC had been ignored by the state government as a result of which, the common man is facing shortage of civic amenities.

District Congress committee president Chamkaur Singh Dhindsa and party leader Gulshan Monga asked the people to raise their voice against the present regime to end their bad days.
