Gang of auto-lifters busted, two arrested

The city police claim to have busted a gang of auto-lifters with the arrest of two of its members and the seizure of stolen vehicles from their possession.

Acting on a tip off, a motorbike was intercepted at the Workshop Chowk on Tuesday and on questioning the yourh onboard confessed that the bike had been stolen from the city, police sources said. Manjit Singh Kala and Sohan Lal, both residents of Bhargo Camp locality, were immediately arrested, the police said adding that during interrogation, the accused had admitted to involvement in stealing of several behicles from the city.

On the accused's confession, stolen vehicles including a car and five motorbikes were recovered, police said.
